Q: How old do you have to be to hire a car in Turkey?

A: It is necessary to be 21 years or older to hire a car in Turkey and you must have held your licence for a year or more. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a surcharge.

Q: What licence is required?

A: An International Drivers Licence is required for visitors from some countries, including the UK. Check the requirements for your country before you leave for the most up-to-date information.

Q: What will I need to secure the booking?

A: As well as an appropriate driving licence, you will also need to provide your passport and visa if required. A credit card is necessary to confirm the booking and an amount will be taken as a security hold for the duration of the hire.

Q: What are the rules on children travelling in cars?

A: Children up to 150cm in height and 36kg in weight must travel in the back of the car. Children aged three or under must be seated in a child seat. Car seats can be hired from most rental companies but it is advisable to book in advance to ensure availability.
